ABOUT THE FUNDRAISER: In seven years, The Cathedral has grown its collective from 14 to 40 local women and nonbinary artists and put roughly $750,000 directly into artists' pockets — nearly $150,000 more than a traditional 50-50 gallery commission structure would have paid out. As a small, independently owned business, the last few years haven't been easy, and nights like this one are what keep The Cathedral's artist-first commission structure alive, keep its doors open to local artist-forward programming, and let it partner with other local arts organizations to offer affordable space for their events too.
